Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place Meditations launches on Amazon Alexa

“Alexa, open Happy Place Meditations!”

Fearne Cotton has launched a meditation experience for Amazon Alexa. Happy Place Meditations offers daily guided meditations and acts as a companion to people looking to find calm, balance and relaxation.

The meditations have been designed specifically for use on Alexa by Fearne and her friend Zephyr Wildman who is an accomplished teacher of yoga and meditation.

Just say, “Alexa, open Happy Place Meditations” to get started.

Meditation and mindfulness have become more mainstream in recent years thanks to a range of apps and online content. With the average person in the UK now checking their smartphone every 12 minutes,* Happy Place Meditations for Alexa allows  users to have an escape from that distraction.

The meditations are suitable for those with little or no experience of meditation, as well as seasoned veterans. The skill is voiced by Fearne which provides added calm through familiarity and her friendly, down-to-earth tone.

Users can access a free, three-minute meditation each day to help with relaxation and focus with the option to upgrade to a premium subscription. Subscribers will have access to more content and be offered suggested meditations based on the time of day; such as morning meditations to energise and evening meditations to encourage restful sleep. Premium users can also repeat meditations and request them by name if they have a favourite.

Celebrated presenter, author, designer and festival organiser Fearne, has had an interest in wellbeing since childhood, inspired by her mother’s passion for yoga and reiki. Fearne created Happy Place to help people clear the mind, bring joy and unlock inner happiness. The Amazon Alexa skill is an addition to Fearne's hugely acclaimed Happy Place Podcast, the Sunday Times Best Selling book Happy and the sell-out Happy Place Festival.

Fearne Cotton says:

“Voice is such a great medium for guided meditations. It allows people to access the content without lifting a finger, which helps them to stay focused in the moment. It’s great for encouraging daily meditation practice which improves well-being. Happy Place Meditations will fit so well into the Happy Place brand and help with our mission to bring good, simple happiness to the everyday.”

Ruth Oakley, Creative Director of Vocala says:

“We believe voice has huge potential to support people on their journeys in health and wellbeing so we are delighted to create this skill in partnership with Fearne who is a real pioneer in the space. We’ve put a real focus on ensuring the experience fulfils the different needs of users throughout the day.”

Happy Place Meditations for Alexa is free to use once daily while the premium subscription costs £2.99 / $2.99 per month, with an option to trial for free for seven days.
